Born and raised in Nashville Tennessee Terri Lynn's fascination with music began as a child. Her mother picked and sang all the old Irish ballads with her sisters in harmony, as well as country classics. This inspired Terri Lynn to write and perform her own songs.
In Terri’s early music career years, she formed a band with her then husband, Lynn and called it “Who’d of Thunk It”. While performing around middle Tennessee, Terri Lynn went to several songwriter nights in Nashville which gave her the inspiration to host a writer's night of her own. Her concept was doing a songwriter's night with a full band in comparison to the rest of Nashville doing “Writers in the Round”.
Lynn at that time became ill and could not play. Terri Lynn formed a new band and called it “The First Take Band”. An amazing concept band that worked for years. She put together some of the best Nashville session players on a stage and the songwriters would have their songs charted and perform at several locations in Nashville.
Currently, she hosts a once-a-month inspirational Christian writers' night on Music Valley Drive at Opryland for USAGEM. Terri Lynn has a gift of giving through music. While on Music Row, Terri Lynn put together a pre-recorded video for the US Army Moral Support unit of the 101st Division out of Ft. Campbell KY deployed in Bosnia. Terri recruited 36 Independent Recording Artists and choreographed a 6-hour Video with every Recording Artist performing on a stage with the same 5 musicians and singing for the troops. This video was aired on AFES Television for the Troops to see. Along with the Video, Terri Lynn collected over 10,000 CDs from record labels on Music Row to distribute to the Troops in Bosnia. For this act of selflessness and devotion to American Troops, the Commander of the 101st Airborne division recognized her with an official US Army Recognition of Achievement Award.
Terri Lynn is preparing to release songs from her new CD “Bad Blues, Good News.” Terri Lynn has for years performed throughout the Southern States as Terri Lynn Blues along with US Military installations where Commanders have flown in just to present her with accolades for her devotion and support of the Troops.
She has been married since she began her career. In this rebranding using her husband's last name; this project is to reach out to her blues crowd and show them that even though they may have the blues, there is a way to heal. A way to make it through your struggles to the other side. Soon to be performing in your area, spreading God word across America is Terri Lynn Kathey. Her music on this project are Bad Blues and the Good News of God’s Word.
